Do I Really Need 10+ Driving Lessons?
It depends on the person, it varies! Some people can learn after 3-4 lessons, the average would be after maybe 10-12 lessons saying that I say 20, 36 or 40 lessons be about right. It all depends on your lessons with your professional instructor and how much practice you put in, in between. It depends how quick you learn to be honest really, things might click straight away or maybe not. Everyone is different, learn at your own pace don’t rush it take your time, it will come naturally and comes second nature after a while.
I think for any new learner drivers out there, spend the time on learning the basics before getting lessons at all or at least practice them as much as you can as everything else will fall into place more easily. Important features are the pedals, gear box, hand brake and steering after that is what you’d be learning for general driving and so on. Getting the basics right is the first step to being confident with other aspects of driving.
Its important to get the gear changing right, practice it before even getting the car started same applies with getting your feet to correlate with the pedals such as getting to biting point slowly lifting the foot off the clutch and where the clutch and accelerator meet. You have an idea if your foot gets uncomfortable on the clutch and there is a give as if you are about to lift it off the clutch but don’t until you have got into suitable gear and gas going (when car is turned on but you can do this even if car isn’t on just do like the car is on even though its not!), the stopping and braking is very important too, its imperative to get clutch and brake control spot on with out conking out!
